We had a fun Halloween week! We started our week out by shopping for Halloween costumes, getting candy, and decorations. The kids had a lot of fun doing that, then on Wednesday night we went to the trunk or treating activity at church. Friday night we went to the haunted barn Halloween party at the horse stables at Turtle Bay. Then on Halloween, Luca had his last soccer game of the season in the morning followed by a BBQ party for his soccer team. Then at night we went trick or treating on Moana street in Laie. What ever happened to Halloween just being a one day thing? It was like it was Halloween ALL week! I had so many costume changes/cleanings, make-up applications, hair do's, candy bags, etc. It's pretty exhausting once you get to the end of it all! But of course it's all worth it when you get to steal all your kids candy, I mean, see how happy your kids are....and how adorable they look in their costumes!

Halloween
Below: Sofia fell asleep on the way to trick or treating, she fell asleep a total of three times during the night but kept waking right up, she didn't want to miss out on anything!
The next several pics were taken before we went out trick or treating, Gabe had a work thing he had to deal with and we had to wait a LONG time for him, so we took some pics to pass the time...poor kids, Luca kept saying "this isn't happening" over and over again...he was so worried he was going to miss trick or treating...
There was a big yellow light shining on the banyan tree, it made for some cool lighting, I thought it looked very Halloweeny
I have to write about his costume...we went to a store called Camouflage Inc. It is located right next to the army base in Wahiawa. It was a real army store, it was like heaven on earth for Luca. They had three different styles of kids uniforms for Luca to choose from, he picked this pattern because it is what all the army guys wear now, we always see them at Wal Mart and Costco in this exact outfit. He wears it everyday now like it's his regular clothes and if he does wear regular clothes he has to have the hat on. In fact, he's wearing the entire outfit right now as I write this posting.

Matti and sofia picked out their costumes themselves. Sofia wanted to be a princess so when we went to the store I held up all the Disney princess costumes and this is the one that she picked out. Matti REALLY wanted to be Jack Sparrow but when we were at Costco, he saw this pirate costume and couldn't wait for another one, he had to have it right then and there!

The next few photos were taken on Friday night before the Turtle Bay party. The horse stables at Turtle Bay where they set up their haunted barn is right next to the beach, it worked out perfectly that I got some photos of my little pirate on the beach!

He's drawing an X saying, "X marks the spot" as you can tell from his photos, he really gets into character.
As you can see, she is wearing a different costume on this day, she decided she wanted to wear this princess dress from her dress up clothes bin, I guess I didn't need to buy her a costume...

This is Sofia on Wednesday night at the trunk or treating, she insisted on these shoes, and she actually is really good at walking and running around in them. Luckily I talked her out of them on Halloween night.
A few of the kids that live at the Turtle Bay condos with us. They play together everyday after school, it's really nice for me to have a break while they all go play outside. The little girl on the far right is named Destiny and she is Matti's "best friend." He asks me ALL day, is Destiny home yet? over and over...they're very cute together.

A lot of the houses on this street really go all out decorating their homes, it's really a lot of fun. I didn't take many pictures though.
Gabe thinks he's funny. One of the homes gave out balloons. Everyone was staring at him and I was of course embarassed! Especially when he put Luca's face in the middle of them and told Matti to squeeze them! How innappropriate! I probably shouldn't even right that on my blog! I made him remove them...
This picture sums up all of our exhaustion at the end of the night, everyone fell asleep as soon as we got home.

Here they are once we got to our trick or treating destination, they are showing me their trick or treating bags that we decorated together earlier that day. It was actually a really fun activity for the kids and very inexpensive as well.

Luca is a miniature Connor. Connor went through a VERY long army phase. I think he wore his army suit for halloween 3 years in a row! Then he got an air force pilot suit after that. He is still very into the military, but thankfully the dressing up has finally stopped.
